Whales Dolphins and Porpoises Sightings
Being just above Johnstone Strait has hampered the up to date Blog posts. I apologize for the delay. There are so many Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises in and around this area right now that it’s difficult to keep accurate records without stopping every few minutes, which I have not been able to do as often as this Blog requires. Also, since I am away from my regular location, I am not receiving all the reports I usually do, but I do thank those who do contact and submit reports – they are all important.

8:45 am Orca East by Cracroft Point, Blackney Pass then 9:30 am they were Westbound to Hanson Island. 3 to 4 Orca continued through the Plumper Islands, Weynton Pass. Around 30 – 40 Pacific White Sided Dolphins picked them up and harassed the Orca mid Blackfish Sound all the way to Bold Head and Whitecliffe Islets. Around 12 pm those 3 – 4 Orca headed towards Fosters Island with a number of the Dolphins still chasing them. Lots of small groups of Dall’s Porpoises zipping around the Stephanson Islets, Weynton Pass, to and around the whole Blackfish Sound area.
1 pm 20 to 25 Dall’s Porpoises playfully bow riding the skiff at Bold Head and a bit later some more bow rode the skiff for a short distance.
