Leaping Dolphins, Shy Orca and Humpbacks and Porpoise in numbers
Pacific White Sided Dolphins and Porpoise take over in Cetacean sightings once the last few Orca leave the area. Also notable are the sly Humpback Whales appearing briefly, but staying elusive.
Things have been very busy with our society. There are a number of new pages on the main website (links below), as well as much preparation for the Powell River Sea Fair July 26 to July 28, 2013.
Our NEW fundraising efforts offering a draw for Two 6 hour whale watching tours donated by one of our regular reporters, Garry Henkel, Aboriginal Journeys Whale and Grizzly Bear Toursto help us continue our efforts, are available on line until July 25th and at Sea Fair till closing ceremonies July 28thwhere and when the winner will be drawn and announced.
Please consider donating / entering the draw; we have no other funding at this time. Our current financial position is posted at: https://whalesanddolphinsbc.com/wild-ocean-whale-society-wows/ and it’s not great. But we wouldn’t be here at all without the support of the people who contributed during our initial fundraiser. A huge thank you to you!
We do hope that with the society in place, we will be able, in the fall, to apply for some additional funding that would offer us a bit of breathing room to continue.
